Cross-country skiing & winter hiking in Val Pusteria & the Val Casies

Oh what a wonderful, white world

Skiing down sunny slopes, exploring the Val di Casies on cross-country skis, or strolling through enchanting winter forests on foot … no matter what your heart longs for, the Val Pusteria has plenty to offer winter enthusiasts.

Far from old news

Once an insider tip for seasoned cross-country skiers, the Val di Casies is now one of the most popular regions of the Dolomiti NordicSki network. No wonder – one of South Tyrol’s most scenic cross-country trails runs from the valley entrance to its end: around 45 km, suitable for both classic and skating techniques.

By the way: every year on the third weekend of February the second largest mass cross-country ski race in Italy takes place on the Casies sun trails: the Casies Valley Run. For more than 40 years, the renowned ski marathon has thrilled cross-country skiers from all over the world.

Plan de Corones, no question about it,” some say… … “the Tre Cime, it can’t get any better than that“, say others when asked which ski mountain in South Tyrol is their number one. Some of our guests also love our small but charming village lift. It’s perfect for those first attempts and adventures.

Did you know? The ski areas Plan de Corones, Tre Cime Dolomites, and ten other ski regions have joined together to form the world’s largest ski destination “Dolomiti Superski“ and offer a total of 1,200 kilometres of pistes and 450 lifts, catering to skiers of every taste.
