15th of August La Casies: the place to be...

South Tyrol – on region, two cultures

On the 15th of August we celebrate two different holidays: the german speaking inhabitans celebrate Assumption of Mary and the italian speaking celebrate "Ferragosto" (latin for celebrations of Augustus). The italian celebration day goes back at the Augustus, an imperator of Rome, who was celebration on that day his victory over the Egypts.

Get in touch with Gsies valley on a day between the cultures. In the morning you can watch a traditional "Prozession" (cortege) through the village core of St. Martin and you can see the "Pater Haspinger" band.

Afterwards, Patrick and Viktoria are searching for the winner of the first La Casies archery tournament. Additional you can relax in our sauna, where Stefanie will prepare a "Lederhosen Aufguss".

Shortly before the sun is going down, it is time for an aperitif in our cozy lounge. Our kitchen team will prepare an amazing italian style dinner "cenone di ferragosto". Enjoy it!

After the dinner, the South Tyrolean Band ECETERA is giving you a taste of their accoustic song repertoire. Lets dance!

Come by, and check out the spirit of this night,... it will be an unforgettable experience!
